About The Nutcracker inspired Yarn Advent Calendar
2026’s Christmastime inspired yarn advent calendar is The Nutcracker! Imagine colors both sweet and dreamlike, christmassy, and perhaps some nightmarish ones! There are so many magical adaptations of this beautiful ballet, and it has touched our hearts since childhood. We could listen to the music all day, every day. When we were debating which Christmas story to use for advent inspiration this year, we landed on this one and now our imaginations are running wild! We will be taking inspiration from many versions, and generally just the nostalgia it evokes for us. We cannot wait to share the beauty of The Nutcracker with you through yarn!
Our advents are a great gift to yourself or a yarn-lover you love. They are a blast to open with friends and family who also love the theme (color guessing with kids is so fun!). The 10gs are quick to work into a simple and therapeutic holiday project each day, or as additions to big, scrappy projects, that can be kept for yourself to hold holiday memories for years to come. The finished projects can also be gifted at the end to a “knit-worthy” lover of the fandom inspiration… Us Bees and others have done all of these and more since we started making yarn advent calendars and patterns in 2017! Some important details about The Nutcracker inspired Yarn Advent Calendar
LIMITED AVAILABILITY! First come, first serve!
Advent includes 25 wrapped, surprise colors each day from December 1 - 25
Colors will be a mix of dye techniques, including variegated, speckled, and tonals. Colorways will be all new.
Colors are truly a surprise, and the total “look” of the advent is not decided until we finish dying them! We do our best to stay true to the inspiration for each colorway.
Each mini skein is 10g/46 yards of Squishy Sock, 10g/ 38 yards of Coquette Sock, or 10g/24 yards of Squishy DK- read about them here!
25 of our 10g minis add up to 2 and a half skeins of yarn. We only dye 10g advents so they are easy for you to knit or crochet each day of advent. If you want more yardage, please purchase a second advent.
Optional complimenting full skein surprise color to add on in any quantity you would like. Complimenting Full Skein is OPTIONAL and not included in the mini skein advent.
Complimenting Full Skein listing is for a single surprise full skein that complements the advent for making larger projects and DOES NOT INCLUDE the mini skeins - choose one skein or more to make a bigger project, like a blanket or sweater.
Includes a custom designed surprise Tote Bag to hold your minis and advent project
Includes a few other extra surprises. In the past these have been progress keepers, stitch markers, pinback buttons, tea, and stickers!

PLEASE DO NOT ORDER OTHER ITEMS WITH YOUR ADVENT ORDERS. Advents can be purchased together, but items ordered with your advent will ship when this advent ships- if you add more to your order, you understand you will not receive those items until mid-November 2025. Since we have limited studio space, keeping track of your other order items until November can result in lost items.
Advents are shipped with full insurance- replacements for lost advents may not be possible, but a refund with proof of loss can be pursued. We are not liable for your advent once it enters the courier service, but we will offer all the support we can during the shipping process. It is your responsibility to make sure your address is correct at time of shipment. Advents Returned to us by the courier for any reason will require you, the customer, to pay extra shipping.
