“Targhee is a USA grown wool that is processed in the United States. The Targhee breed was developed at the Experimental Sheep Station in Dubois, Idaho in the mid 1900’s. The foundation stock were ewes of Rambouillet, Corriedale, and Lincoln bloodlines bred back to Rambouillet rams. [This wool] is 23/23.5 microns.”

“BFL is a British luster longwool, 25-27 microns, staple length 4 ¼ inches, 110 mm. The fiber feels finer than the micron count would suggest. The luster promotes intense dye results. Grown in the UK.”

“This is the perfect product for those looking for a unique addition to their spinning offerings. Rambouillet is a less common fiber in the hand spinning market, however it boasts fantastic characteristics such as a fine wool (22 microns) with longer staple length for next-to-skin comfort, strength and durability. This fiber also has great elasticity and bounce.
Our Rambouillet is a product of the USA. The wool is primarily sourced in the US, but I’m sure some of the greasy fleece comes from Canada as well. The wool is scoured and combed in the US.”
