All About the Pattern

The Bavarian Forest Hat was designed to be the perfect accessory for your next outdoorsy adventure, whether that means exploring the tumbling waterfalls and tall evergreens of the Bavarian Forest, the snowy peaks of the Rockies, sledding with family in your backyard, or shopping with friends on a chilly night on the town — it’s perfect for any occasion! With a thick, woolly, worsted yarn and a deep brim, this hat will keep your ears nice and cozy, while the cables add the perfect amount of classic, winter-time texture. It’s really become a family favorite, and I hope you’ll enjoy knitting it as much as I’ve enjoyed making it for you!

Yarn:
Approximately 245 yds of Worsted yarn.

Tonal or speckled yarn colors are suggested.

Sample on cover is knit using Bumblebee Acres Farm’s Bumble Worsted in color “Red Barn”. Product Page color is “Pewter”.

US 9 Circular Needles 16 in.
US 9 DPNs or longer circular needles for Magic Loop Method for crown decrease.
1 Crochet hook or darning needle to weave in ends

Finished Size:
One Size fits most adults.

Gauge:
9 stitches and 16.5 rows = 2 inches in 2x2 rib spread to lay flat knit on smaller needles (US 6 in pattern)
