The 2010 Woodstock Farmers' Market has now officially begun Thanks to all our market friends who came out Saturday, May 1st and welcomed all of us back to the market, we had an awesome day! For Saturday July 24th you can expect to see; *French Sorrel *Oskana Purple Mustard *Rocket Arugala *Blue Scotch Kale *Tatsoi *Rainbow Swiss Chard *Dragon Beans~yummy Market favorite~ *Blue Lake Bush Beans *Brittle Yellow Wax beans, tender and sweet *Italian Romanesque Zucchini *Patty pans of all types * Zeypher summer squash * Gormet Shallots *Cipolinni onions *Dill *Genovese Basil *Potted Herbs; chocolate mint, basil, cilantro *cut flower bouquets *Grandma's Bow-wow peanut butter dog biscuits

Pictured are chicks that are 2 days old and growing very nicely eating Certified Organic feed. At 3-4 weeks they are moved to a "Chicken Truck" (keeps them safe from predators) where they will be moved daily to fresh pasture and supplemented with Organic feed. In the "Chicken Trucks" they are able to feast on tasty bugs and sweet grasses. Our chickens are antibiotic and hormone free, and sold fresh frozen in vaccum sealed packaging, they weigh between 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 lbs. and are $16 a bird. Available at our Farm or thru our CSA program. Heritage Turkeys raised in the same manner available later in the season, price to be determined at a later date.
Eggs
Fresh eggs in a rainbow of colors, from our free ranging hens. The yolks are so nutrient filled (loaded with Omega-3 & Omega 6) they are more orange than yellow. Sorry, no eggs will be available for sale in 2010.

My three beauties! Latest farm developements; Sarah wins BIG at the McHenry County 4H Dog Show!
Sarah and Evie (pictured on the right) won Grand Champion JR. Showmanship 2010 and will be heading down state at the end of August to represent our County and compete for Grand Champion Jr. showmanship of the state of Illinois. We are very proud of Sarah and Evie's accomplishments! Sarah also qualified with Solice (one of our Shelties) in graduate beginner obedience and Hailianna qualified with Conner (another sheltie---but Hailianna is too young to go down state), and Samantha qualified with Romeo (one of our Havanese---pictured with Hailianna on the left, they had gotten 3rd place in Jr. showmanship!). Stay tuned for state fair results!!!! Last fall we had gotten a cute little Pygora buck from Rock farms. We are hoping that at least one of our goats will kid this spring/summer. The wool is awesome. Yes! We have a Pygora doeling, named May (born May 2010), born out of Cricket and Eddie. She's a keeper! Being bottle fed by my daughter Sarah and already made an apperance at the Woodstock Farmers' Market. Another Pygora doeling was born to Coconut! Her name is June. Pictures coming soon!
